Evoque Retrospective: Q2 2020

July 01

And just like that, another three months is in the books! It was an unusual quarter for everyone to say the least, but despite a drastic change in how the world works, Evoque made some exciting strides. Here’s a look back on some of the biggest announcements and happenings at Evoque during Q2 2020.

Evoque Appointed a New CEO

In mid-June, Evoque welcomed Andy Stewart as its new Chief Executive Officer. Andy brings years of varied industry experience with him and has exciting plans to continue Evoque’s forward momentum in the years to come.

Here’s a note Andy shared with Evoque’s clients:

“I assumed the role as Evoque’s President & CEO last Monday, June 15. I’m proud of where we’ve been, and excited about the opportunity to move Evoque into its next phase. Backed by Brookfield Infrastructure Partners, we see a significant opportunity to grow our firm.

We continue to focus on creating carrier-neutral facilities, while expanding our portfolio of services including cloud on-ramps, cloud management and various other network and managed offers. We are creating these new services with an eye toward building, buying, or partnering.

We have several strategic partnerships in motion that will position Evoque as a trusted partner, supporting your digital transformation journey.

I look forward to your input and feedback as we shape Evoque’s vision, culture, and roadmap in the months and years to come.”

Introduced Unlimited Remote Hands Services

The world has changed, quickly making social distancing and minimized travel normal business practices for the foreseeable future. At the same time, you need to ensure that operations remain “business as usual” or maybe even scale up your environments to support new work methods or consumer data demand.

To help you achieve these goals while abiding by COVID-19 restrictions, Evoque added a new Unlimited Remote Hands service option in April. This product, known as Remote Hands Plus, allows clients to pay a low flat fee per rack for unlimited remote hands service. Even without travel and on-site restrictions, utilizing Remote Hands Services can offer practical and financial benefits to many organizations that use colocation solutions.

Launched Virtual Data Center Tours

Another way Evoque has adjusted to the COVID-19 era is by taking specific steps to ensure you can still take personal, customized tours of our data centers. A pre-recorded video may give you an idea of the space, but it doesn’t allow you to see where your specific infrastructure will live or ask live questions as you think of them. That’s why Evoque has introduced live virtual data center tours

We’ve equipped our data center managers with the tools they need to provide high-quality, steady video and audio feeds as they walk you through the data center of your choice. No travel or in person contact required.

Expanded Our Cloud Connectivity Partnership with Megaport

Easy cloud connectivity has also become more important than ever and we understand that it’s a critical component of data strategies for many of our clients. With that in mind, we’re constantly working to expand our cloud connectivity solution partnerships. In May we announced that our cloud connectivity partnership with Megaport, a global leading Network as a Service (NaaS) provider, expanded to include 11 total markets.

Megaport connectivity will soon be available in Evoque’s Lynnwood, WA; San Jose, CA; and Watertown, MA data centers and recently became available at the Piscataway, NJ data center.

Busy Executives

On top of everything, our executive team was busy this quarter! In addition to Andy taking over the role of CEO, several other Evoque executives made notable appearances:

Donna Henderson, former VP of Marketing named Influential Marketer in the data economy

It’s been an interesting and exciting three months at Evoque and we can’t wait to see where the second half of the year takes us!
