Ken Lee Appointed EVP Corporate Development And Sarah Button Named CFO For Evoque Data Center Solutions™

December 05

Evoque Data Center Solutions™, a global colocation services company, today announced that Ken Lee, formerly the Chief Financial Officer at Evoque, will be assuming the role of EVP, Corporate Development effective December 2, 2019. Concurrently, Sarah Button, previously CFO, Integration Executive and Vice President of Business Operations at SoftLayer, an IBM company, will be joining Evoque as Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Lee’s industry knowledge and focus on corporate development will ensure Evoque continues its evolution as a growing, thriving global colocation services provider. Moving into 2020, he will lead the company’s focus on M&A, Real Estate, Energy Procurement and Strategic Partnerships.

Since joining Evoque, Mr. Lee has demonstrated an unwavering focus on delivering top quality solutions, innovation, and growth, making him an outstanding choice to lead corporate development. His career path has spanned a wide range over the past twenty years, from his start with GE to his transition from ANTARA to Evoque.  “I look forward to continuing to work with the great women and men on the Evoque team to strategically build on the foundation we’ve put in place to extract value from our global platform” said Mr. Lee.

Mr. Lee is succeeded by Sarah Button, who will be assuming the role of Evoque Data Center Solutions™’ Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Evoque, Ms. Button was responsible for all US and international financial reporting, accounting, tax and treasury functions, in addition to the regulatory, compliance, and security operations for SoftLayer through the period of its rapid growth as an independent company, as well as during its acquisition and subsequent integration by IBM.

At the time of its $2.1 billion sale to IBM in 2013, SoftLayer was one of the largest cloud computing and data center services companies in the world.  While overseeing the integration of SoftLayer into IBM, she was also responsible for managing a major international expansion and the acquisition of a data center networking company.  These expansion initiatives along with other acquisitions by IBM helped to create the fourth largest cloud platform in the world, now called IBM Cloud.  Ms. Button’s experience at SoftLayer will be highly relevant for the Chief Financial Officer function at Evoque, as well as in assisting in the development of Evoque’s large Hyperscale and Cloud customer relationships.

While at SoftLayer, Sarah was known for driving process, structure, and building financial acumen across the organization. This promoted all team members to be aware of the financial health of the company, make informed decisions, and support the revenue targets.

During her career, Ms. Button has worked as the global tax leader and financial controller for a variety of multinational public and private companies in the telecom, business support services, and manufacturing sectors. Her focus has been on high growth businesses driving expansion and process improvement while managing risk and costs.

“We’re very excited about our momentum and are spending a significant amount of time exploring various organic and inorganic expansion opportunities across our global footprint,” said Tim Caulfield, CEO of Evoque. “With this goal in mind, it made sense for us to separate our corporate development and CFO functions to give each role the dedication and focus they deserve. I cannot think of anyone better suited for the positions than Ken and Sarah and we’re excited to see where they help drive Evoque in the near- and long-term future.”
