Predicting data center trends is fun (and important when it comes to staying current with client needs), but that doesn’t mean data centers can forget the bread and butter of their service offerings. That’s the crux of this recent 451 Research report, “Dear datacenter industry, let’s get back to the basics.”
The report, based on data from 451 Research’s “Voice of the Enterprise: Datacenters 2019 Survey,” dives into the fact that:
“The reality is that data center customers are still looking to colocation providers for what they always have: disaster recovery and improved uptime and reliability.”
Disaster recovery options, reliability, uptime, and better latency are some of the reasons that companies continue to move from private data centers and cloud solutions to colocation (specific stats in the report). It’s an interesting take on what colo can offer and what clients deem important as we enter the new decade.
